We drew our topic to a close with a fantastically successful celebration! On Tuesday, we all came to school dressed in red or gold and took part in a carousel of activities: making spring rolls; creating Chinese scrolls; designing kites; composing music using the pentatonic scale and finally, learning a wonderful dragon dance, courtesy of Louise from The Education Group. The day was enjoyed by all and was a fitting end to what proved to be a very creative topic. On the final day of term, we were able to share the dance, music and all the art work we have done with our parents during a Phase 3 assembly and open afternoon.
We have come to the end of a very busy half term! It seems like a very long time ago when we, in the very first week, marched up to Kingsway, to watch the competitors in the Tour of Britain as they rode through Widnes early in the race. We loved being part of the excitement and were amazed at how fast the cyclists went past! It was definitely worth the walk! |
