We drew our topic to a close with a fantastically successful celebration! On Tuesday, we all came to school dressed in red or gold and took part in a carousel of activities: making spring rolls; creating Chinese scrolls; designing kites; composing music using the pentatonic scale and finally, learning a wonderful dragon dance, courtesy of Louise from The Education Group. The day was enjoyed by all and was a fitting end to what proved to be a very creative topic. On the final day of term, we were able to share the dance, music and all the art work we have done with our parents during a Phase 3 assembly and open afternoon.
Haha I loved this topic, especially learning about the dragons! It's no suprise that I LOVE mythical creatures (dragons, werewolves, sea serpents etc.). That assembly was good too, though I had a terrible cough throughout it and went red while trying to speak because I coughed so much! Also, loved the dragon dance. Hope our new topic, pole to pole is as good as this one!
